“Trenchless technologies” describes a group of methods, used for the construction or rehabilitation of pipelines and require minimal digging and disruption. Their advantages over conventional open trenching are questionless. They find application in any soil conditions and are very useful for pipeline construction (deep) under roads, railways, buildings, rivers, sewers, and so on. The construction or rehabilitation of pipelines for gas, water, sewers, etc., can be conducted with no traffic disruption, at low risk for existing infrastructure and it has a minimal impact on the environment.
